Just finished The Truce of the Matter by Charity Shane and I’m still sitting with this one a little… 😮💨📚
From the beginning, I appreciated how clear and vocal he was about his intentions—that kind of honesty will pull you in every time. But this story? Definitely had me keeping tissues close. There were moments that felt heavy, emotional, and real in a way that lingers.
At first, I couldn’t help but think the relationship leaned into trauma bonding—and maybe it did—but even with that, I still found myself invested and enjoying the ride overall. It’s one of those reads that makes you pause and reflect on how love, pain, and healing can all exist in the same space.
And listen… has anybody actually had Hennessy Paradis? Because based on that price, it’s a no for me right now 😭 but that sidecar? I might have to try it.
Also, I will absolutely be attempting that lemonade recipe because it sounded too good to ignore:
Lemonade Recipe (inspired by the book):
1 crate of lemons
1 pineapple
2.5 lbs of sugar
Filtered water

👉 If you try it before me, let me know how it turns out 👀
