I Don’t Just Read Books… I Feel Them
I’ve realized something about myself as a reader…
I’m the reader that:
Gets emotionally invested
Starts analyzing characters like they’re people I actually know
And pauses mid-chapter just to process what I just read
If a book is good, I’m not just turning pages…
I’m reacting, questioning, reflecting.
And if it’s really good? It has me in a chokehold 😭
I’ll be thinking about it while I’m driving, cleaning, or trying to start another book that doesn’t quite hit the same.
But what I’ve come to appreciate is this:
The best books don’t just entertain you, they reveal something to you. About relationships.
About choices. About yourself.
That’s why I can’t just rate a book and move on.
I need to talk about it.
Break it down.
Connect it to real life.
Because sometimes the real story isn’t just what happened in the book…
It’s what it made you realize after.
So if you’re that kind of reader too, the one who feels everything and needs to unpack it…
We’re going to get along just fine!
